This is the neighborhood day we keep repeating when the week has been louder than usual and we want a Saturday that feels shaped but not scheduled.
Start with something baked. End with noodles. Everything else can move around.

Breakfast worth waking up for
The morning stop matters because it sets the pace. We like one bun, one coffee, and the kind of table where you can still spread out the receipts from the week.
Best one-order spot
There is a lunch counter here where the right order is obvious and that feels like a relief. Get the thing they are best at and do not complicate it.
Late dinner
By dinner we want noodles somewhere a little dim, preferably after a record shop stop that took longer than expected. This is not a bug in the route.
Detour
If the produce shop still has herbs and the flower buckets are not wrecked yet, take both home. The apartment will feel kinder later.
Best one-order spot
Whatever the lunch counter is known for, plus the side of pickles.
Closing note
This is our favorite kind of city day: one neighborhood, one jacket, no rushing, and dinner only after we have let the afternoon stretch out properly.
